Will and I took a trip to Cleveland and were able to spend some time with good friends. Here's a shot of all of our kids:
Sleepover :) Little baby B is taking it all in!
Buddies
Love these girls and their sweet families. Both girls have showered us with prayers and love over the last few years. Both have been the light of Jesus to me in a dark time and always have a word of encouragement. I'm reminded of Romans 12:15 "Rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn." I've rejoiced with these families and mourned with them this year, too as one has experienced the birth of a precious baby and the other a tremendous loss in her family... pray for my friend and her family if you think of it. God knows her name :)

July 4th

Will and I took a trip to my hometown, New Martinsville, to see some friends and also celebrate Janny's birthday a little early.

We visited with Carissa and her daughter. Will LOVED playing with Emmy. Can you blame him? She's so cute!

We spent an evening with Carissa's in-law's and had a bonfire and made s'mores. Will plopped himself down beside Chad. I thought this was cute.

And the celebration begins. Janny got a tattoo on her foot as an early (milestone :) birthday gift to herself. Most of us went to high school with this tattoo artist, Josh Mason. He is the owner of Old Soul Tattoo in Canonsburg, PA. And also Janny's cousin.

It's an ichthus with "John 10:10" over it. John 10:10 says "I came so that they may have life and have it abundantly." I can say that Janny definitely lives life to the fullest!

On Sunday we met up with Grandpa and Grandma and the Ebenhack family to watch the parade and fireworks. This is the only shot I got of the Ebenhack's, there's 7 of 'em :) They are missionaries and are here temporarily. I loved meeting them and spending time with them. Will really bonded with their youngest son. He even stayed the night with us. I look forward to time with them again.

Will loves Star Wars legos. Not sure where the fascination started. We were at Target picking out a gift for Jesse for father's day and he chose Star Wars legos. Jesse left them at our house so Will could play with them, naturally. He's been playing with it every free moment he has. My friend, Katie, has tons and put up pictures on Facebook. Will wants to look at them all the time! He keeps asking if we can go to her house :)

-misheard lyrics: "Hush little baby don't sail away..."

-Will's new phrase is, "but I'm just telling the truth, that's all" But he doesn't really know how to use it. For example, today we saw a hot air balloon right over our house. Will asked if he could ride in it and I told him, "you have to be as big as daddy before you can ride in one but we could pretend like Little Bear does when he wants to fly." Will's response, "but I just want to ride in it. I'm just telling the truth that's all."

-Will doesn't even know how to lie. "If he says it, it happened" my dad always says.

-About 7 years ago, I remember having a conversation with a friend on the way home from work. Our first full time job, we'd been on our feet all day. My friend H says, "I can't imagine having the energy to go pick up a child after working all day!" I thought about it, "Yeah...! That would be rough!"

Today, it is the part of my day that I look forward to the most...and the most exciting. The rough part is having to leave him all day. I am hoping this comes to an end very soon...

-Will's favorite color is green. If we're at a green light, he'll say, "GWEEN! That's my fav-wite co-wo!" And of course, picks a green m&m, straw, crayon etc.

- Will's morning routine: pancakes, yogurt, fruit, and Little Bear.

We like Duck, she's funny. I like Little Bear because he's polite to his friends. I cannot say the same for SpongeBob.

-One Saturday morning Will slept in a little. I did some school work and started making breakfast. He came downstairs, hair sticking up on one side...

wm: "Watcha making?!"

em: "I'm making you pancakes and bacon!"

em: (still kind of squinting) "Oooohhh (big smile) you're so good to me mommy!"

Unnncllle!

Let me start this out by saying that I have always felt like it is fair to pay taxes. We live in a country that allows us an incredible amount of freedom and opportunity. It's something we have to do so why even complain about it, right?

Wrong.
I realized today that for the first 4 months out of the year, I am working for free. I am working to pay taxes. Not only that but I was introduced to the world of paying 50% tax on my "bonus." Half of my bonus. Single mom? C'mon!
I feel like walking around Columbus and just saying, "You're welcome" to everyone!
I know, we all pay and I shouldn't act so self-centered. But I really felt like I got punched in the gut today.
I feel better now. Thank you. That is all.
Oh, doesn't this look yummy? Have I mentioned I love to bake?
